About a week ago, I posted about the fraternal team over at Billykirk, Chris and William. Their handmade leather items are truly something special, as is the story of how they got started. And, much to my surprise, later in the day I received an email from Chris. He was thrilled to have found the post and was extremely complimentary on its content; so much, in fact, that he offered to send over my first bit of blog schwag!

It was with no lack of excitement that I ripped into the package that arrived today with the now-familiar Billykirk stamp on the front; I’ve been looking forward to getting my hands on the NO.156 Abstract Cuff since receiving Chris’ email. Well, you can imagine my confusion when I realized that there was more to the package than just the cuff. I opened the envelope to find their gorgeous NO.177 Double Collar Button Belt as well, along with a short note.

Well folks, schwag comes from all places. And, I suppose part of the bonus of writing in a public place is that anyone – including my mom – can read my ramblings. Turns out ma took a gander at the Billykirk post and decided to add to the gift bag with a little surprise of her own (in the form of a new belt). Thanks mom!
