TipJoy: Making it even easier to share your cash
Yeah, yeah, of course we all have PayPal. But if you’re anything like me, you know at least 17 people who have had some issue or another with those guys. Heck, I spent the better part of last week bouncing emails back and forth with them trying to get funds released - not exactly confidence inspiring. Of course, PayPal isn’t going away anytime soon for things like ebay payments. But for simple donations, there is a new way!
TipJoy is a new web-based service that makes it uber-simple to collect donations - or donate to your favorite sites - online. Signup is easy with the usual email/password. But what makes TipJoy really stand out is their Twitter integration. You can also sign up via your Twitter name and password, and users can tweet their donations directly from Twitter!
They also offer integration into a number of blogging platforms with either a basic, or a fully customizable button. It looks like some of the features still need a bit of work - there’s not much to do in your profile settings page (looks like there’s a place for a picture, but nowhere to upload one…). But overall, TipJoy could prove a worthwhile alternative for certain PayPal functions.
